If you would like a formal diagnosis, individual testing is most easily accessed by participating in a research programme. There are a number of UK research centres regularly looking for participants who experience difficulty recognising faces, so you can contribute towards increasing the understanding of face blindness at the same time as learning more about your own condition.

A group of UK-based researchers have developed a validated measure of prosopagnosia severity which takes the form of a 20 item self-report questionnaire. This online test is linked to research centres in London, Reading and York, so that you can complete and self-refer yourself as a potential participant at the same time. Alternatively you can download it and self-score your answers if you prefer.
The most commonly used test for face blindness is the Cambridge Face Memory Test. An online version can be accessed via the Birkbeck website.
